New WindFloat Press Releases
WindFloat, in the Wind again...
Today, three Press Releases hit the wire... at the same time, and all our partners were recognized... It was almost more coordination to get those PR done, than to get all the various contractor schedules to match... but it's there, really, check out the links to:
- Our sister company, and the promoter of the WindFloat, Principle Power 's press release
- Our major partner, and early adopter of the WindFloat technology, EDP Innovation 's press release in Portuguese,
- and of course, a WindFloat without our turbine Manufacturer, Vestas , would just be a MiniFloat... Vestas's press release .
It's really a wonderful feeling and a huge motivator to see how many people are now involved in this project! Can't wait to see her float!.

OMAE 2011- Rotterdam
The30th International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE 2011) will be held in Rotterdam,(the Netherlands), Europe’s largest port and the base of a large number of world renowned offshore companies. This event will take place between June 19th to June 24th, 2011.
OMAE 2011 OMAE 2011 is the ideal forum for researchers, engineers, managers, technicians and students from scientific and industrial communities from around the world to meet and present their progress in OMAE technology and its scientific basis. The opportunity to see real offshore structures during the Rotterdam Offshore Boat Tour makes OMAE 2011 a unique event.
Our program will follow the tradition of excellence standard in all previous OMAE conferences. This year, we will also honor three Dutch researchers who significantly contributed to offshore research with three Special Symposia related to their fields. The following ten standard Symposia and three Special Symposia are planned:
- SYMP 1 Offshore Technology
- SYMP 2 Structures, Safety and Reliability
- SYMP 3 Materials Technology
- SYMP 4 Pipeline and Riser Technology
- SYMP 5 Ocean Space Utilization
- SYMP 6 Ocean Engineering
- SYMP 7 Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology
- SYMP 8 CFD and VIV
- SYMP 9 Ocean Renewable Energy
- SYMP 10 Offshore Geotechnics
- SYMP 11 Jan Vugts Symposium on ‘Design Methodology of Offshore Structures’
- SYMP 11 Jo Pinkster Symposium on ’Second Order Wave Drift Forces on Floating Structures'
- SYMP 13 Johan Wichers Symposium on 'Mooring of Floating Structures in Waves'
OMAE 2011 is organized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OOAE) Division of the International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI), and Kivi Niria. OMAE 2011 is sponsored by various professional associations of many countries.

Day on the Bay
After long promises, we finally all managed to take a day off and go sailing on the Bay
Antoine took some nice
pictures . AS you can see, the indian summer has started in the bay area, and after a whole summer of hard work on the WindFloat, it was nice to actually go out and see wind and waves. We were far from the 50-year storm, it was more like the 50-year nicest day. Good planning.
